“ Our Chef and Waitress were incredible and I hate that I failed in getting their names, very humble, kind and we thank you very much- from start to finish the service was incredible and the food and drinks were amazing. We were able to sit in the speakeasy, having dinner in a historical atmosphere. I came as part of a business trip and would definitely come back again! ”
“ Terrific food in a beautiful and unique setting. The weather was perfect so we dined on the patio. I loved the tomahawk pork chop while my family members enjoyed the baby back ribs, the plum rack of lamb, and the chicken Lombardy. All were cooked perfectly. And for dessert we had the chocolate cake and creme brulee, and we couldn't have been happier. This is a great place to come for a very nice meal without paying a fortune. ”
“ If you’re looking for a charming summer dining spot just outside of Pittsburgh, The Back Porch is a must visit. Located just 50 minutes from downtown pittsburgh, this historic restaurant delivers a cozy, upscale experience with a fresh seasonal menu that highlights local ingredients and summer flavors. Alaina took great care of us throughout our entire visit and guided us through their menu. We also got a chance to speak with their phenomenal chef, Kevin Carson. Their summer menu is full of standout dishes. We had the burrata bruschetta and the calamari to start. You could taste how fresh the tomatoes were and the calamari is fully prepared in their kitchen. Be sure to ask about the daily specials, we got the special cocktail, the Paloma Hugo Spritz and it was the perfect thing for patio sipping. We also split the clobster grilled cheese because we couldn’t resist crab and lobster combined with cheese between bread. It was absolutely delicious. For our mains, we tried some of the summer menu highlights- the Salmon & Crab Hemingway, Rack of Lamb, side of truffle fries, side of cheesy scallop potatoes, and a side of asparagus. Everything was made to perfection and truly incredible. I absolutely adored their outdoor seating area. It was a mix of covered and uncovered patio offerings g a peaceful atmosphere whether you’re looking to enjoy in the sun or a shaded seat. It’s the perfect setup for a summer evening with friends, family, or date night. We did save room for dessert and tried out the dessert sampler which came with the pecan ball, creme brulee and a cannoli. We paired these with their tiramisu martini and their s’mores martini. It was the perfect finish for a perfect meal. With friendly service, delicious food, and a relaxed yet elegant vibe, The Back Porch is a hidden gem for anyone looking to enjoy a summer meal outside the city. Add it to your Pittsburgh food bucket list! ”
“ We happened to be passing through the area. Stumbled upon this Google suggestion and was the best decision. Had the lamb, asparagus and au graitin potatoes, orange almond old fashion, and a pecan ball. The carrot cake was fantastic! All were absolutely fantastic!! We didn't have a reservation but they had a table open downstairs in a little room at the bottom of the stairs right before the wine bar room. Was nice and cozy! ”

“ A friend and I drove over to Washington county to check out what the area has to offer. We absolutely loved checking out the attractions and restaurants. I came to the back porch for dinner during winter and loved the coziness that the ambiance gave off. The back porch has so much history and delicious food. From the local art on the walls and the way the staff knew nearly all the customers by name, this place had the sweetest charm. We started in the speakeasy for a cocktail before our reservation. The kind hostess lead us down to the bar and we passed the cutest table in their wine room. Once we got to the bar, we tried the Speakeasy Royale and the Dad's Hat Toasted Cinna-Berry Sour. The bartender Kristen took great care of us. Once we finished our drinks, we headed back up to our reservation. Roman took care of us and treated us with focus and care. He shared the history of the building and guided us through the menu with grace. We started with cup of lobster bisque and the mussels. The lobster bisque was a fantastic starter on a cold winter night and the mussels were the perfect item to share. For our entrees we ordered the maine-style baked scallops, salmon & lobster hemingway, and the mushroom risotto to share. When our entrees came out, Roman described them in great detail which truly elevated our experience. The food was delicious! For dessert we shared the almond torte. The presentation was stunning and was the perfect thing to end the night with. Roman showed us their upstairs with additional seating after our meal. The set up is absolutely perfect for a private event and we both immediately said that it was the perfect space for a bridal shower, baby shower or family gathering. Roman shared that they have customizable packages for private events to accommodate to the customer. The back porch restaurant is a wonderful option when looking for a nice, quality dinner. If you are ever around Washington county, be sure to add the back porch to your list!! ”
“ We went for Valentine's Day and we weren't disappointed. The food and drinks are amazing. Started with baked brie appetizer and ended with red velvet cheesecake. We'll definitely be back to try more foods. ”
“ absolutely divine dining experience!! scrumptious food and quaint dining ambiance! our server was super friendly. We had a large table and they were very attentive and it didn’t seem like we waited long for our food. The food was also so delicious. Our group also had them make a cake for our celebration and it was the perfect cake to a perfect dining experience. Highly recommend. lovely setting. my only minus would be that all of the dinners are a la carte. ”
